This week I am spending some time away with Sarah and Madison. And we’re having a blast! We’ve laughed more in the past two days than we have in a long time.
Yesterday, I introduced Madison to Krispy Kreme donuts for the first time ever. She’s trying to decide if she still prefers Dunkin Donuts.
We also spent some time shopping together. While we were out, we passed a kiosk vendor who was putting out some balloons.
Madison had to have one.

If you’re ever going to accomplish anything worthwhile, you’ll have to be willing to feel awkward. What you’re doing will seem foolish at times – to yourself and to others. The truth is – you’re never going to be more than 80% sure. So the awkward feeling is natural.
You might as well go ahead and decide. Don’t put it off any longer. Make the decision.
Great leaders start by clarifying their bold, compelling vision. First for themselves, then together with others. And they don’t expect everyone to get excited about their excitement.
Why? Your intensity often confronts the passivity of others.
You’ve been there – most of us have. Stuck! We wake up one day to the realization that a significant portion of life has passed us by. And we wonder, How did I end up here?
Your mind races through all of the decisions, circumstances, and events that converged to make your life and work what it is today.
So, how’d you do? How are things going so far?
The truth is – we’ve all looked back on a few decisions that could’ve been made differently. We’ve noted behaviors that needed to end. Recalled circumstances that were less than desirable.
But, here’s the real question…
It’s the one piece of advice we all know is true, but don’t necessarily want to hear. If I could say one thing to my generation it would be this – Grow on purpose!
