Not exactly. I’m in New York City this week with a disaster relief team from FBC Midlothian.
I’ll be speaking at Crossroads Church. And we’ll be working with a non-profit to clean up from Hurricane Sandy and repair several facilities on Long Island. We’ll also be providing support for families in the community.
The Long Road
Eight months later, it’s hard to believe that there is still so much work to be done. Leaving a path of devastation in its wake stretching from the Bahamas to Canada, Hurricane Sandy was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the 2012 hurricane season with 285 fatalities. It was the second most costly hurricane in United States history causing more than $30 billion dollars in damage.
Our team’s only goal this week is serving people. And while we hope to encourage many here, I’m looking forward to how the lives of our team members will be affected.

So many things to see in NYC if you have not been there before: World Trade Center Memorial, top of Empire State, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, China Town…and that in lower Manhattan! If you do one thing, I’d see St. Patrick’s Cathedral and stroll by the famous Rockefeller Plaza (Midtown).
Michael Nichols says
That’s a great list! Thank you!
