I asked her, “What do you want your life to mean?”
Sitting across the cafe table from our 8-year-old daughter, I waited patiently for her response. She spent the next 45 minutes telling me her dreams – for her life, for her friends, for her work, for her family.
She talked a lot about what she is doing at this point in her life – about today. As I listened, I was reminded – [Tweet “The only way to have a great future is to have a lot of great todays.”]
Start Today
And if you’re going to have a lot of great todays you’ll have to be very intentional about how you live and work. So what are you going to do today to get one step closer to what you want your life to mean? What is one step you can take in your work, with your spouse, with your kids, in your church, in the community? What are your goals for the year?
I recently spent a couple of days away conducting my annual review. I’ve previously written about The Importance of My Annual Review. If you’ve not seen that article, take a few moments to check it out – it will add value to this one.
If you’re like me, you know the value of scheduling time away to reconnect with the things that are most important to you. AND you’ve figured out that just getting away won’t cut it!
What you do during the time away is equally important.
